At New York’s Oxomoco, the Mango Mezcalero appeals to fans of both fruity and spicy Margaritas. Boasting a housemade spicy tincture and Tajín rim, plus fresh lime juice and mango purée, the drink is equal parts piquant and refreshing.
Mango Mezcalero

Ingredients
Serving: 1
- 2 ounces mezcal, preferably El Buho espadín
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce mango purée
- 1/2 ounce agave nectar
- 3 dashes spicy tincture (see Editor’s Note)
Garnish: Tajín rim, lime wheel
Directions
- Rim a rocks glass with Tajín and set aside.
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice and shake until chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.

Spicy Tincture
Cut 5 chiles de árbol, 3 serrano chiles and 1 ancho chile into small pieces and place in a resealable container. Add 500 ml of vodka and cover. Let sit for 24 hours, then strain.
