J & Tony’s Discount Cured Meats and Negroni Warehouse has served the Kold Brew Americano, a mashup of the Americano cocktail and the Americano espresso drink, for years. “The combination of cold brew and bitter liqueur with a touch of fresh lemon acts like an espresso and tonic: tangy, bittersweet, refreshing,” says bartender Anthony Schmidt, all lengthened by effervescent seltzer, “a necessary step, since we’re using such intense ingredients.”

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth, preferably Cocchi di Torino
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth, preferably Cocchi di Torino
  • 1 ounce cold-brew coffee
  • 1 ounce cold-brew coffee
  • 1/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 2 ounces seltzer
  • 2 ounces seltzer

Garnish: half orange wheel

Directions
  1. Fill a Collins glass with ice. Add the first four ingredients and stir.
  2. Top with seltzer, then garnish with half an orange wheel.
