Plausible Deniability

Contributed by Alex Waldman | Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul-based bartender Alex Waldman created this drink with the parameters of using limited citrus with a bitter liqueur to make something round, full and relatively dry. He made the first iteration using a base of bourbon while guest bartending. Upon presenting it to the bar’s owner, he was greeted with the observation that it possessed nymphet-like qualities (a reference to Lolita). So, Waldman named it Jailbait. Upon revisiting the drink, he reworked it with Scotch and renamed it accordingly.
