Derek Brown created this aromatic cocktail to serve at one of the Obamas’ holiday parties at the White House. Building on a base of bourbon, amontillado sherry and white port, it drinks like a slightly higher proof riff on the classic sherry-and-vermouth cocktails that were prevalent at the end of the 1800s.
