Self-fulfilling pun and prophecy, perhaps. Nevertheless, what will surprise you about this tequila-based beverage by Patrick McNicholas is the combination of lime, honey, cucumber, Herbsaint and chai. If time allows, let the cocktail rest on muddled cucumbers a minute before indulging.


Serving: 1

  • 1 ounce tequila, preferably Vida
  • 1 ounce Herbsaint
  • 3/4 ounce lime
  • 1/2 ounce honey
  • 6 drops saline
  • 3 - 4 cucumbers
  • small dash chai bitters
  • soda, to top

Garnish: cucumber

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the cucumber with all other ingredients.
  2. Let stand for a few minutes and then fine strain into a Collins glass with ice.
  3. Top with soda and garnish with cucumber.
