While the sauvignon blanc grape can shape shift depending on where it is grown, its archetypal expression hails from the Loire Valley’s Sancerre region. Here the grape tends to exhibit both minerality and a green aspect, sometimes likened to green pepper. For this white wine-based answer to frosé we honed in that green aspect of the grape, calling on St. George Spirits’ Green Chile Vodka, alongside simple syrup and lime juice, to turn its flavors up to 10.

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 2 ounces Sancerre
  • 2 ounces Sancerre
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce St. George Spirits Green Chile Vodka
  • 1 ounce St. George Spirits Green Chile Vodka
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Garnish: jalapeño slice

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a jalapeño slice.
