Garibaldi Granita Recipe

One of the simplest granita recipes, the Garibaldi Granita combines the aperitivo’s expected orange juice and Campari with an ounce of vodka in order to raise the proof and achieve the right slushy texture. According to creator Jelani Johnson, this simple granita is “my biggest slam dunk.”

Ingredients

Serving: 1

  • 4 ounces orange juice
  • 4 ounces orange juice
  • 2 ounces Campari
  • 2 ounces Campari
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce vodka

Garnish: orange slice (optional)

Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to an 8- or 16-ounce deli container and stir to combine.
  2. Cover with a lid and freeze overnight.
  3. After 24 hours, use a fork to scrape and whip the mixture until it reaches a slushy texture.
  4. Serve in a chilled glass with an orange slice.
